Our organization uses two platforms (Mailchimp) and the Internal Communications tools built into SportsEngine. Building (graphic) emails in the SportsEngine platform is very frustrating even when using the templates. For one, the creation takes 2-3 times more in Sports Engine. The emails don't look as good (branding and communication effectiveness suffer) and there are huge issues in that you cannot "save a draft" and there are not even basic analytics for link tracking, opens, bounces. etc. Further, there are no integrations so email blasts can be re-purposed on social media. It's been mentioned in many posts the ability to schedule communications, which is not essential but a very useful feature.

OR -- if you don't want to do any of that...
Follow Shopify's model and use integrations with third-party tools making the email lists sync with your MailChimp, or Constant Contact, etc. in real time which would allow for better user experience, list segmentation and other features you are not likely to develop anytime soon.
