The ability to cancel calendar events rather than just deleting them.

You are not able to cancel an event on our calendar (i.e. Practices). We currently only have the ability to delete the event. It would be helpful if the event still showed on the calendar and changed to the color red for example saying it was cancelled rather than it just disappearing. It can lead to potential confusion if a parent thought there was practice and now it is erased from the calendar-- it would bring clarity if it said cancelled. Team Snap alerts the parent/athlete that a calendar event has been cancelled

Both games and events can now be either cancelled or postponed. Simply edit the status of the event and select either cancelled or postponed in the drop down.

I think that this idea would be swell.

    Great (and necessary) idea!

Having the ability to add "rescheduled" as drop down choice when adding an event to the calendar.

That way you can keep track of the postponements and rescheduled games.

What other status's should we be considering. For now I see two.. Canceled and Postponed

    Any others?

There is another idea on this board around re-engineering the "invite to event" process (SITE-I-435). Right now you have to manually invite people to every event, even if the event is months from now. If this was changed to automatically invite rostered players and coaches to all team events, then you could leverage that technology to send an email to the players and coaches when an event is cancelled. This came up yesterday during the rain for our football and cheer org. I think the ideal solution is a mix of this idea SITE-I-435. Have rostered members invited to each event on their calendar by default, and have it trigger notifications (not just through the mobile app) when events are cancelled.

Just testing this with team tags, and unlike games or news, I'm not receiving a notification on the SE app. Should we expect a notification when the status changes to postponed or cancelled?

I just cancelled an event but the notification does not indicate it's been cancelled. the iPhone notification still shows "New event". It should show in big red letters CANCELLED to minimize confusion.

The status doesn't show up on the event aggregator for games that have been postponed/cancelled.

To me this is a system defect, not a "new idea" for the development team.  How can you possibly have a calendar function, with functionality that allows you to set a status to cancelled or postponed, but doesn't show if an event on the calendar is cancelled or postponed?

We don't want to just delete the event/game, we want it there for historical purposes.  This is highly confusing not only for families who use the website rather than the app, but also for umpire scheduling, grounds crew scheduling, etc., who use the website to know if their services are needed at the games.

This is honestly a potential reason to look for another provider like TeamSnap.  This is a huge deal.

Hey Zach, you're right. These aren't displaying as they should and I have submitted to the development team as a bug.

How can I delete practices that I know we cannot attend - they hog up my calendar view. I'm not the manager, so I don't have access to edit or cancel anything on my ical. Please help!
