"It is our preference that the notification settings for all our members default to “text+email”. We have many clients who do not receive email and whose connection to the club is only through their cell phones, mostly low-income families. Generally speaking, these families are not highly tech savvy, and the multiple step process for changing text preferences and authentication is cumbersome and unwieldy.
Handholding all these parents through the process is an unsustainable administrative burden for us, and not having them receive texts abrogates the system value for them. If we can’t quickly develop an easy way to enroll them in text messaging, this entire system comes crashing down for us, significantly undermining our administration and rendering Sport Ngin nearly unworkable as a long term solution. I cannot stress enough the importance of this functionality.
Looking down the (short) tunnel of time, this is a train wreck in slow motion. What can we do to address this issue? Every other system we evaluated was able to accomplish this. "
