Send messages to multiple groups

Add ability to send same email to multiple groups, registrations and teams. directors have to communicate to multiple entities. Currently you can only email one group or one registration or one team or the whole member directory

When messaging from BackOffice, you are now able to send a message to multiple groups or teams at one time.

I agree as this really reduces our effectiveness in email marketing.  Many times we have information to send out that applies to more than one registration group or team and right now the only option is to copy and paste the message and send it to multiple groups.  Some of our members belong to multiple programs while many only belong to one or two.  As a result, the members that are in multiple registrations end up receiving the same message 3 or 4 times, which is obviously annoying for our customers.  Its also time consuming to go through and send the same message multiple times.  We also host a tournament with registrants coming from outside of our club, therefore it never makes sense for us to message our entire member directory as the same info doesn't apply to everyone in our registrations.

I could not agree more with Jared and Dan.  I have to say I find it incredulous that you cannot send an email to multiple groups in this day and age. It is unnecessarily tedious to communicate with targeted groups in our membership given the amount of times you end up sending the same message.

Takes a little longer, but email templates could work for you.

My suggestion for something like this would be build a basic email center admin page that can have access permissions assigned to it (so you allow other people access to send mass mailings if needed).  Use the member's admin page as a template so you can filter according to name, group(s), etc.  It would show just the basic member information and allow for customized mass mailing by user's other than full administrators to "spread the wealth" when managing the league.

As an aside, it would be great if you could automatically email news updates also when they are posted to either a team page or main news collector for a league.

    Hey everyone, Here's an update.

We have been working on a very large release over the past year. It's currently looking like BETA will be opened in May. I've reached out to see if the group messaging feature can be made available for BETA release ahead of the full feature set. Not sure that it can but I'll find out. In the meantime, here's a screen cap of the feature that I've been using in early testing for my club.

Where is the product roadmap for SE?  At this point, things I've seen promised for a year or more have not shown up.  I'm tired of trying to manage a huge league with no consolidated toolset to deal with 60+ teams and having to communicate effectively with subsets of those teams.  At this point, I'm ready to switch back to League Athletics which provided a much better management backend for team/league/schedule management.

I voted for this because it could be much simpler and be based on Leagues, Divisions, Teams, Staff, and Players rather than registrations however...

For our league - Benicia Little League - we have the ability to send separate emails to Leagues, Divisions, Teams and even staff. We've done this by leveraging registration and roster assignment through the registration. Once you place players on teams via "rostering" - SE will update the records so that you have League, Division, and Team as filter-enabled columns. Then you simply create reports for the main Leagues (all players in league) and filter them down for specific teams.

For team staff we again use registration, this time it is a volunteer form that must be filled out by each staff member. A coaching application would work just as well. Rather than use "rostering" we update fields for League, Division, and Team on the registration and again create the reports.

This is only a partial solution as it requires a registration, but by providing view privileges to the people who need to email, it works just fine.

However, long term it would be much more convenient to have some email functionality built on top of the League, Divisions, Team, Rosters so that situations (say All Stars) where teams are formed without a backing registration can be communicated with.

We should be aware that there will be some challenges as adding players and staff directly does not require the person being added to have a Sports Engine account, and so the invitation request / acceptance process comes into play.

Hey everyone. I'm putting together a webinar for May 9th to show these features which will be made available as a BETA. I'll have details on how you can get into the BETA at the webinar. I'll post complete details on the webinar here. Also, events will be posted in our Community. http://community.sportsengine.com/events

I second the comments about a lack of a roadmap.  Jim indicated we have a big release coming in May, we need to know the details befoee we will consider being a beta for this release.  I would also like additional details on the May webinar.

Is this capability available now?  Would really like to be able to communicate with multiple groups/registrations without having to recreate the communication in each group.

@Chicago Lockdown Teams - If you haven't signed up for the People360 BETA yet you can do that here: https://sportsenginebeta.sportngin.com/register/form/527297624

Once the BETA is turned on for your site you will have the ability to communicate to multiple groups/registrations without needing to recreate the communication for each group.

I hit this problem again today, and took a look at People360.  While it did indeed let me select multiple groups to message, it would only let me compose a basic message (perhaps equivalent to the old "rich text").  The ability to send "page layout" emails was either not available or not obvious.  One step forward, two steps back.
