Allow private pages to be included in Page Search

As an admin, I would like to be able to include private pages in the page search function. If a user didn't have access to that particular page, they would be prompted to login if they weren't already logged in. If they were logged in and they didn't have access, they would get a message stating that information.

Even better than redirecting them to a login page, how about the option of two pages (one for public and one for private).  That way, you can have marketing information for the team on the public page, but then reveal roster information (etc) for private users.

Hi Robert, For team pages, you can make the main landing page public and then make the rosters (or any of the other tabs) private. In Tool Settings/Roster, there is a drop down called Status. By default it is set to inherit from the base team page. However, if you make it Private, only those roster on the team (or parents) will be able to see that tab. The same goes for game schedule, stats, etc.

    That's an interesting work-around, except:

    • Even if I set all the sub-page permissions (roster, etc) to private, the Home icon still appears.
    • The team home page is a good spot to put the Calendar and News, and I don't want those to be public.  Note that there aren't Calendar or News tools on the team page (peers to Roster, etc) where that content could be displayed, and I haven't seen the ability to add another page by myself.
    • The team graphic and season selection box still show on the page.

Thanks for the idea, but I'd really like to have a regular page where I could all the marketing for people who might be interested in, say, PeeWee AA hockey, but then have the same navigation take team members into their team page.

If this doesn't make sense, I could send you a mockup.
