Allow players to be waitlisted

After registration closes, we'd like to have people enter all their info, including payment info, and be put into a wait list status.  Then as slots open up and we're able to place the players, the registrar could initiate an "accept from waitlist" transaction.  The registrant's credit card would be charged, they would be notified that they were now registered, and they would be moved to a registered status in the system

    We also need this feature.   We try not to put more than 11-12 per Baseball team.    

     

    We leave the registration open for a while (no cap), but we keep tabs on it.  As we get closer to the registration closing date, we determine the cap.  If more register after that cap, then we need to determine if we have enough registered to start another team, so we need to wait list them.

    Here's a thought.... 

    Since the Registrations are like a "Store" item... 

     

    Using Baseball as an example, we cap out teams at a max  of 12 kids.  In playing around with rosters, if we need to shuffle around kids we can do teams of 10,11, or 12.   But we typically do registrations in multiples of 12.    Kids need to be waitlisted if we don't have enough to fill another team, if we do (stretching to 10 or 11 kids per team) we can make it work.  

     

    Here's a thought, change the Store item in a way such that we put a max amount with a "wait list" option.  Anything above this max "Store Item", would be placed on a wait list  In this case, it would not charge the family (why would they pay if they're being wait listed).  The registration reports should have some indication that they were "Wait Listed" such that it can be filtered in the reports later down the road if need be.

     

    If there's enough to roster another team, then we should be able to go to the registration reports, be able to filter on those wait listed, automatically generate an Invoice to charge the family for the registration Fee (so that it is connected to a registration ID) and be able to Roster them on a team.
