I send my edit requests for a new registration in an email. It would be great if, when the edits are completed by SE, the help desk responds to my original email. That way, I will easily be able to see what I should user test (instead of looking for the original email.)

In order to keep moving through the hundreds of registration set ups that happen on a daily basis, we track them through our job tracking system. This allows us to spend time helping you get your registrations turned around quickly. Communication after the requests come in are handled here so we don't misplace any emails.
