Why is it useful?
If the SE registration system automatically checked and verified whether or not a registrant's home address falls within the league boundaries, then the registrant doesn't have to manually walk through 100's of addresses and manually verify each player is eligible to play in the league. We could also use this info. during the registration process by informing the registrant that they do not live within the boundaries, but if their child attends a school within the boundary, they may continue the registration process and upload the signed school enrollment form.
Who would benefit from it?
Every league registrar will benefit from this as it will save them many hours of manual labor.
How to implement?
Use an online mapping API to lookup whether a user's home address falls within a league's boundaries. Save this data in the registration database/CSV file and use it during the registration process to inform the user how to proceed to the next step (E.g., is this user registering for the wrong league? or do they simply need to indicate that the player attends a school that falls within the league's boundaries).
