Add ability to view Contact information and send Message from Roster Merged

It would be of great help to be able to view a persons phone number and e-mail address from the Roster on the Mobile app. This would allow someone to make a call or send a text to that person without getting out of the app.

This is something we are currently working on. Attached is the current working mock up of how this would work. Clicking on the phone or email would launch the associated built-in apps.

Our league would like this as well. However, I see a couple of issues that I believe would need to be addressed first:

    1) Privacy - not all states have the same privacy laws so it would be a challenge to expose the information directly in the app. For this issue I would propose something similar to RSVP where the coach, manage, other parent requests access to current (from the registration) contact information. The owner of the player record may then confirm or deny the request. If confirmed, the information is available to the requestor and then email and phone functions are enabled from the app.

    2) Access to disabled teams - currently the app does not prevent users from accessing teams they have made a favorite after the team has been disabled or superseded by a new season. This creates a situation where contact with players and their families is everlasting where the situation should actually be that access to the team ceases once the team is no longer active (current season or disabled).

If these two issues could be addressed, then I think it would be possible to add contact information to the app.

Just one quick correction here. Disabled teams are removed from the mobile app. If the season isn't disabled and just a new season is created, then they will keep access to it.

YES! Add this, please. We routinely need player contact information out on the field. Say if a player gets hurt,. and we need to reach the parents.

We've recently shipped an update (version 5.17 or higher) on iOS and Android that allow team coaches to view guardian contact information for each player on the roster. To view this, navigate to your team's roster, tap on a player to view their details and you'll see a new Guardian tab. From here you can also add new guardians on behalf of your players. -Mark

This is great, however half of the players guardians do not have a phone number in there profile. I looked at my profile and I could not find a way to add or edit my phone number on the app. Also could not find a way to add a phone number for the guardian on the app. It would be great for them to be able to do it on the app.

@JaHbat FC - we agree! We're looking forward to enabling account contact information editing in the app in the near future. For now, users still need to access their account settings and information through a mobile browser at sportsengine.com. Once logged in, tap your image in the top right and then tap "Go to My Account." -Mark
