Allow for admins to merge duplicate accounts.
We've experienced the same problem. It's a huge problem! When a manager rosters a player and sends the invitation and that player has not created an SE account it will duplicate the SE account. In our first season, we have hundreds of duplicate accounts. We then struggle with which account to give permissions to as there can be 3, 4, or 5 of the same user account listed with the same email address.
I'm not sure why SE would even duplicate an account with the same email address. It should all be one account and we wouldn't even need to go back and merge duplicates. But yes we need a fast way to resolve this issue on the administration side as relying on members to merge their own accounts simply is not a feasible solution. Thank you!
There are a couple of ways to delete the duplicate accounts, but ultimately it would be nice if SE could fine tune the creation process and pick up that an email is already in the directory, therefore a merge needs to take place.
A known issue that SE seems unable to come up with a solution to in a timely manner.
I've been told 3rd quarter of 2019 for a solution.
Why it takes 6 months to add a delete feature is mind-boggling.
